About.
HELLO, GORGEOUS!
My name is Bea Mienik! I’m an NYC-based performer, musician, and writer, originally from Tampa, FL. Stories have always mattered to me - especially the stories of generally underrepresented groups. I graduate from NYU Steinhardt's Vocal Performance (Musical Theatre) in Spring 2025.
Before I was a performer, I was a writer. I’ve worked in all writing styles, including creative, promotional (BroadwayWorld.com), and personal essays/ opinion pieces (Scholastic Book Company National Award Winner), satire/ comedy (The Squeaky Wheel), disability inclusion, as well as being rejected from NYT’s Modern Love a whopping seven times (one day I’ll impress you, Daniel Jones).
One of my other passions is disability advocacy and inclusion, and that's why I created Bea Talks T1D, a series of videos educating the public on Type 1 Diabetes, in 90 seconds or less. I am also a member of Breakthrough T1D's (Formerly JDRF) Young Adult Advocacy Council (Class of 2025-2027). Check out Bea Talks T1D here.
There's also the incoherent Google doc I have going called "Bea's SNL ideas"... but we don't talk about that. Unless you're Lorne Michaels.
Eventually, my goal is to write my own show and perform in it!
When I’m not doing the aforementioned smorgasbord of things, you can find me on the beach, making a short film, listening to Carole King, playing Pokemon, and telling my cat she is the Prettiest Girl in the World.
PICTURED: A bow? Pre-Macarena? Kite imitation? Definitely a "nice to see you!" Conveniently, it IS very nice to see you here on my "about me" page!
